What counts as a conversation
A conversation is one visitor thread on one bot with at least one AI reply. It ends after 30 minutes without a message or at 20 AI replies, whichever is first.
Not counted:
- conversations where every reply was off-topic;
- conversations cut off by our abuse limits before any real answer;
- chat and share-page conversations over the hourly allowance for one visitor's address;
- your own tests in the playground, and questions asked through the MCP server;
- conversations while the chat is collecting leads, since no AI reply is sent.
You pay for visitors who got an answer, not for our model bill.
When you reach your limit
- 80%We email you.
- 100%We email you again and show a banner in your dashboard.
- 100 to 110%The chat keeps answering.
- Past 110%The chat collects leads instead of answering, so visitors can still reach you. Or turn on extra conversations, with a spending limit you set.
On Agency, each client can have its own cap, reached before the shared pool is. The trial switches to collecting leads at its 100th conversation. All limits
Billing questions
Which plan do I need?
Solo suits one business with one website. Pro is for busier sites or a few businesses under one account, and removes the MooseChat branding. Agency is for agencies that run chat on their clients' sites, each client in its own workspace and under the agency's brand. More for agencies
Can I change plans later?
Yes. An upgrade applies straight away and you pay the difference for the rest of the month. A downgrade applies at your next billing date.
How does yearly billing work?
Pay for the year up front and each month costs less: $32 instead of $39 on Solo, $82 instead of $99 on Pro, $207 instead of $249 on Agency. That's more than two months free. On yearly plans the chat switches to collecting leads past 110% of the month's conversations, since extra conversations are only offered on monthly plans for now.
What does an extra conversation cost?
$29 per 1,000 on Solo and Pro, $25 per 1,000 on Agency, billed at the end of the month. It's off until you turn it on, and you set a monthly spending limit when you do.
What happens when my trial ends?
The chat stays on your site and keeps collecting leads, but stops answering questions until you choose a plan.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, from your dashboard. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Payments already made aren't refunded, except where the law requires it. The details are in the terms.
